NOTES: I just got married and needed a new song for a project that I was involved in.  My wife, being the big “oldies” fan that she is, actually inspired this song by constantly playing K-Earth (the oldies station in Los Angeles) around the house. I guess that after listening to hundreds of classics, I decided that I would write her one but I needed an idea.  Fortunately, I was working at the time with a wonderful woman who wore a beehive hairdo every single day  - even though the popularity of the style was over decades before.  I remember hearing about a separation with her husband—and there it was.

Just about every publisher that was pitched this song loved it and it even was put on “hold” several times throughout the years.  Unfortunately, the problem was the lyrics.  After all, if “Elvis was just a prince” that would be around 1954—leaving very few singers between 50 and 60 years of age who would want, and be willing, to step into those shoes.  Now if this song was only written about 20 years sooner…sv
